Chicago Area Meeting Minutes

WFC Chicago area meeting, April 18, 2007 held at home of Karen Egerer:

Dear Women Founders,

Below is a summary of the April 18 meeting.  Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, June 24, and we need someone to host the meeting.  As usual, everyone will bring a dish to share, so hosting involves the use of your home only and anything you might want to share.  Will someone please volunteer to host the June 24 meeting?  Please reply to me.

Please remember to go to the WFC web site to read updates and share your information. www.womenfounders.org

Thanks.   Sharon Silverman

In attendance:  Sallie Gratch, Marilyn Susman, Sharon Silverman, Karen Egerer, Ann Jennett, June Podarski  (Low attendance attributed to week night meeting.  Many women cancelled at the last minute.)

  1.  Discussion – use/development of web site.
  1.  Brief recap by Sallie of WFC events since last meeting:  workshop at UN side event during Commission on the Status of Women sessions and WFC New York City evening meeting held in home of Merry Conway.
  1. Suggest using a monthly listserv for WFC communication to direct women founders to our website for further information, to increase its usage.
  1. Continue to send email announcements about Chicago area meetings as they are planned (seasonally).
  1. Post articles of interest on WFC web site.  Article on “founderitis” excellent example of worthwhile articles to post.
  1. Have four regular meetings annually – one in each season.
  1. Next Chicago area WFC meeting planned for Sunday, June 24, 2007.  Agreed: Sunday afternoons work best.

WFC Chicago area meeting,  February 11, 2007:

Dear Chicago Area Women Founders,

We had another stimulating meeting on Sunday, February 11 and have scheduled our next meeting for Wednesday, April 18.  The details are provided below.  Please mark your calendars.  An agenda and directions to Karen’s house will follow closer to the date.

At the Sunday meeting, we decided to ask each founder to respond briefly to two questions regarding her work so that we can post this information on the WFC web page.  In this way, we will be able to share our backgrounds with each other online and save our meeting time for discussions.  Prior to the April meeting, we ask that everyone access the web site to read about each other as we will not go around again with detailed introductions.  We hope you will respond soon, so that we can post your information on the site.
