Sorry for the delay in replying. Thank you for posting your question; it helps us to energize our founder community. Is your question about how to apply for Consultative Status with ECOSOC, or are you unclear about what an NGO is? If it is the latter, you already are an NGO (non-governmental organization). If it is the former, that is a big question. Please reply.
Looking forward to hear from you again,

I like your ideas Lali. The women founders can help each other out, be a source of encouragement and support one another by exchanging ideas and information. Having a conference for the women founders would be a good way to connect and network with others who share similar focus.

The following email was received from Lali Shengelia and posted by WFC:
Dear colleagues!
I am Lali Shengelia from Georgia.
Let me to share my opinion about women founders.
1.	The idea of a Women Founders Conference is very good. But it’s necessary realize clearly the topic of the conference. Sallie and I think the topic of the first conference can be “Being a woman founder". At first we can share online our problems, needs, possibilities; then meet at the conference and continue our activity. That is why we are sure it’s necessary to declare on-line discussion and to identify specific objectives and issues for discussion at the conference and the form and format of these conferences.
2.	In the WFC web-site is indicated the conference can be organized at first locally, in one or two countries that are interested and then use a well tested format as the idea spreads around the world. It’s necessary to identify in what countries is possible to carry out the first conferences. For today we can organize and carry out women’s conference in local scale. May be any other organization have such possibilities?
3.	The other important theme is the funding possibilities for the organizing of the conferences We think it’s necessary to draw up possible budget of the conference. We wait for colleagues from different countries to add to the discussion their offers (examples) of budgets
4.	Then together we can start searching funding to organize the conference for women founders.

Please, send you opinions and recommendations on WFC website, www.womenfounders.org, under “Founder Discussion”.

It is a very good idea to have a women founders conference. If we want to build networks with each other to share experiences and go forward, then we must also consider the possibility of getting funding for such initiative.

Here are several responses WFC received after sending off an email to the WFC workshop participants as well as to women founders we connected with at CSW:

From Tita: Thanks for your continued networking with us. To all women, many blessings and strength in your work with the people you care for.

From Linda: Thanks for remembering us also who were not at the (WFC) workshop but did meet you at CSW 2009. Great outreach.

From Marita: Wow! Thanks for (email) technology. So grateful for the work you do with us women founders!

From Biola: "...thank you for your (e)mails and your efforts in connecting women founders. ....(WFC's) workshop was one of the best sessions I attended at CSW 53. The ideas I gained and the interactions with other delegates made the session unique and natural. I believe the collaborating steps (WFC) is taking now will be sustained. Thanks and well done.

From Lisa: I am amongst those who were unable to make it to the (WFC) workshop at CSW, but keen to remain connected and updated!
